2/17/10 - Ash Wednesday Worship
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. For six weeks, the church holds special midweek services to focus our hearts on Christ's love for us displayed in his suffering and death. Ash Wednesday services, which include Holy Communion, are held at 3:15 and 6:30 pm. A fellowship meal will be held between the services.

Welcome to Calvary
Evangelical Lutheran Church & School

"Evangelical."  It's a word that means "gospel-centered", or "all about God's good news."  In our worship and in our Bible studies, in our school and in our fellowship activities, our goal is to share with this world the good news that God has given his Son Jesus to be our Savior.

"Lutheran."  We bear that name in honor of Dr. Martin Luther, a former Catholic monk, professor and priest from the 1500s who insisted on using only the Bible as the foundation for our faith and lives, instead of relying on the teachings of men.  When we call ourselves Lutheran, we're saying that everything we teach and preach can only stand on the unchanging Word of God, instead of the changing thoughts of man.
