Welcome to the seventh and eighth grade classroom!
Students will grow spiritually and mentally, as well as socially and physically in our Christ-centered classroom! Each day begins with the study of God’s Word that focuses on the topical Christ Light curriculum and catechism instruction. Fridays begin with a chapel service and follow with hymnology study.
The remaining curriculum for the seventh and eighth grades includes: pre-algebra (7th grade) and algebra I (8th grade), literature, English, grammar, spelling, creative writing, American history, science, computers, Spanish, art, music, and physical education. Daily lessons are enhanced through the use of PowerPoint presentations and United Streaming video clips by the various departmentalized teachers.
Outside of the classroom, the seventh and eighth graders have the opportunity to competitively participate in soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, track, and cheerleading. They may also participate in various school-related activities (spelling bee, geography bee, math meet, forensics, science fair, art fair, etc.) through the coordination of our area Lutheran high schools (Kettle Moraine Lutheran and Wisconsin Lutheran). During the school year, they will have the opportunity to participate in: classroom/school singing opportunities in church, a school play/musical, a Spanish night program, “Jump Rope for Heart”, and “Walk for Diabetes.” Other activities offered throughout the school year include: participating in Calvary’s Jr. Choir, Handbell Choir, Chess Club, and Yearbook Club. Students also take part in the Accelerated Reader and Math Programs.
The Lord has richly blessed Calvary School and we would love to have you visit us anytime!
