Christ gave his Church the command, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Christ’s Church is a living and growing body, always reflecting the light of God’s love in a darkening world.
As part of Christ’s Church, Calvary has the joy of carrying out his will on both the local and world-wide levels. Locally, we see ourselves as a mission, reaching out into the community through friendship evangelism, public worship services, adult instruction classes, a Lutheran Elementary School and Pre-K program, community events and countless other avenues. On the national and world levels, we support ongoing mission work through our church body, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The WELS supports missionaries spreading the gospel in over two dozen foreign countries. Recognizing the value of the work our Synod carries out on our behalf, we currently commit over ten percent of our annual budget to ensure that missionaries are able to continue spreading the gospel in foreign lands, and bring people of all nations to know Jesus as their Savior.
