January and February, 2009
Five hundred years after the Reformation, the Lutheran Church and Roman Catholic Church are separated by key teachings about how we are saved and what our relationship with God is. Our Sunday morning class in January and February takes us back to God's Word to understand the differences in teachings such as justification, the sacraments, the saints, worship, and marriage.
The study, led by Professor John Brug from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, is based on a study of historic Catholicism and the current Catechism of the Catholic Church. All questions are treated with respect as we search God's Word to understand the truth.
If you're looking for insights into the teachings of the largest Christian church body, seeking to better understand what makes Lutherans "Lutheran", and struggling to explain your faith with Catholic friends, this class has much to offer you. If you come from a Catholic background and want to know what sets Lutherans apart and why we aren't in unity with the Catholic church, you're welcome to come take part in the class.
The class will be held every Sunday morning in January and February in Calvary's Fellowship hall from 9:15-10:15. There is no cost to take part in the class.
